Ok I know SOMEONE must know – Konami SSQ (DDR) files

I managed to reverse engineer this completely myself but thanks anyway for everyone who tried to get help for me 
I’ll post file specs soon. As I mentioned in the earlier notes there seems to be either a hole in the file format or a bug in the iPhone engine.. this is regarding freeze notes. Which seem to be fine in any form however if you have a freeze note at the same time as a normal arrow, this seems to cause problems, I tried various workarounds to fix this on Flowers heavy, but to no luck. I managed to just get it working with a single freeze note.
If anyone wants I’ll be happy to provide the modded .ssq with the ‘fixed’ freeze arrow if you want to try it on your iPhone. Of course, it goes without saying, you will need to be jailbroken to use it.

Cheers man. Apparently its used in Ultramix and other DDR games – but it sounds like the format may vary slightly between games..

I'm Jailbroken and have this game and was also interested in seeing if you could load edits of songs onto it… I just don't know how to reverse engineer files >_<, but awesome work, I'd love to try your work out, it'd be great to load custom songs on to DDR S-Lite.

You'll find in the app folder that there is a
hana.mp3, and a hana.ssq, those are the two files used for the demo song. The other difficulty steps (including Doubles.. lol) are in there too but the demo only looks at Single Basic steps
You'll also find other .ssq, which gives us an idea of what they might plan on putting on… it all seems hardcoded for now but hopefully they will have some sort of downloadable song support that doesn't use DRM/encryption and this would go into some library folder somewhere…That would be our key through the door without having to swap existing songs for custom songs.

You'll want to talk with Saxxonpike from Bemanistyle. He even made a tool to convert SSQs to the SM format, and he has the same problem with freeze arrows.

My problem isn't really in understanding the freeze arrows so much..but getting Konami's own engine to properly read the freeze arrows right, it can't do it with the out of the box files.. but I guess you can only expect this from a demo version of a full product which isn't even complete yet.

Well, the thing is that Konami uses SSQ from 1st Mix up to SuperNOVA2 (don't know about DDR X), so you have LOTS to try
